How to Develop Social Media Marketing Strategies for Your Business

Having a written social media strategy for marketing your business is your guide to effective social media marketing. If it’s not written down, it doesn’t exist. Even on a whiteboard. It’s also not set in stone. Your strategy and tactics will change based on your site statistics, analytics and social media insights.

Anyone can do tactics. Strategy involves doing some research on your target market (once identified), then deciding which social media networks you’re going to focus on first and then secondary.

Basically, there are no shortcuts when it comes to social media marketing. You can hire someone to do it for you if you really feel you don’t have the time to learn. However, you have to have a budget. Anyone worth their salt is going to charge from $750 – 2000 or more per month. You also need to understand how it works so if you do hire someone — in-house or outsourced — you know if they’re doing things correctly.
