My first “Wednesdays with the Wiz” Facebook Live video! This is really cool. Every Wednesday at 4pm MST/PT, I’ll be on Facebook Live talking about a tip of the week, the latest social media news and upcoming classes and events.
This week I talked about Influencer Marketing and why it’s important to find the influencers in your field or industry that your target market trusts. The idea is to make friends with them so they’ll notice you, follow you, and share your content with their many followers.

You need to really know your target market well to determine who are the influencers that they follow and respect.
Some places that you can find influencers:
Linkedin and LinkedIn Groups: look for those with a lot of connections (over 500) and followers. (You can follow someone without being connect to them.) Search for specific people and follow them.
Twitter: Search by name or industry. Look for someone with a high number of followers (over 2000) and who is active and tweets often. Look at some of their tweets. Retweet 1 or 2 of their tweets every day. When you follow someone or retweet (share) one of their tweets, they get a notification. That’s how you get noticed. Thank them if they follow you back or retweet your tweets.
Feedly.com: Search for bloggers by topic. See how many subscribers they have and how often they write a blog post. Subscribe to their blog. Take a good look at their site. Do they take posts from guest bloggers? Do they have advertising? Do they do reviews? Comment on their blog posts, if they have commenting open.
YouTube: Search by name or topic (keywords). How many subscribers do they have? How many videos have they published and how often?; How many likes have their videos have gotten? Comment on their videos.
