Which Social Media Networks Should My Business Be On?

Avoid social media overload

Which social media networks should my business be on? Which social media networks should you use?

Well, it depends.

Did you know there are well over 500 social networking sites all over the world?

It’s confusing. You hear all types of advice from all types of “experts” and you still don’t know where to start? Start with one at a time?

Who’s your target market?

The reason you start with answering that question, is that each social network has different demographics and cultures. Some are more B2B than B2C or the other way around.

I recommend that you have a presence on all the major networks: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+ and but focus on the ones where your target market frequents the most.

For instance, if your target market is the average consumer, you need to focus on Facebook and Pinterest. But don’t ignore LinkedIn, because LinkedIn users are consumers too!

If your clients are businesses, then you need to focus on LinkedIn, but don’t ignore the other two, because a lot of consumers, have their own businesses!

And use Twitter and Google+ for general exposure and to help with search engine optimization or SEO.
