I was doing some research and I noticed the term “demand generation”. I stopped and thought, I know what the baby boomer generation is and millennials and generation X and Y, but what is the “demand generation”?

Well, it’s not a noun, it’s an objective – generating demand. Hubspot defines it as:

Ultimately, demand generation captures the umbrella of marketing programs that get customers excited about your company’s product and services. Demand generation programs can help your organization reach new markets, promote new product features, build consumer buzz, generate PR, and re-engage existing customers. Read more here.
